We would like to offer free shipping for a specific time frame, and for over $49.99. We have never done this before, and not sure of how to go about it.
I searched for a topic on it, and haven’t found anything.

In your webstore manager (WSM) go to Shipping & Taxes, then select United States.
Select the shipping method that you wish to offer for free, and set a rule as per the image below.
I have done this in the past, without problems, but now all shipping is free.
I have it set up as value greater than $49.99
