Mail Chimp not automatically updating from web store

I have Mail Chimp to send marketing emails and have enabled MailChimp in my settings, but when customers create an account in the web store it does not automatically update the MailChimp database. What am I doing wrong?

The data will import manually, but shouldn’t it automatically populate when a customer sets up their online account?
